Wills & Trust Planning
Do I need a Will? Do I need a Trust? Which is right for me?
Honestly, we get those questions a lot and the answer is: IT DEPENDS. It depends on your age, your health, your assets, marital status, whether or not you have children, pets or elderly relatives.
A basic Estate Plan has several components: a “WILL” to take care of matters upon your death; a “POWER OF ATTORNEY” to take care of your financial affairs if you suffer a serious illness or injury; a “HEALTH CARE PROXY,” or medical power of attorney, to provide legal authority to make health care decisions for you if you cannot, and a “LIVING WILL” to express your wishes and thoughts near the end of a life. If you have nothing else in place, you at least need to do that much; and you need to do it now.
Beyond that we can help you evaluate your own circumstances to decide how best to accomplish your specific goals, whether they are privacy, protection of children and pets, preservation of capital, managing tax consequences, or providing for charities and good causes dear to you. We can educate you on your options and help develop a comprehensible plan for you and your family.
